Translation Document from Spanish to English
This document consists of Spanish poetry written by Mexican poet Pita Amor translated into the English language by Rebeca Perez for a course on Studies and Practice of Translation. Pita Amor’s poetry is constantly questioning the existence of God and also delves into topics such as turbulent frames of mind, and disillusionment/disappointment at life and herself, which will become very noticeable as you read the translations. The translations aim to convey all of Amor’s originally intended message via literal and, at times, figurative translations.

This document is a critical analysis on “The Sovereignty and Goodness of God, 1682,” by Mary Rowlandson. The paper was written based on a close reading of a particular passage on Rowlandson’s book and aimed to explain the extreme views in which early Puritan settlers living among Native Americans lived by.

This is a sample of a fictional story based on Ursula K. Le Guin’s The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas created for a science fiction course on women writers. This story was a creative response to Le Guin’s tale in regard to the moral/ethical implications of sacrificing those of low status for the benefit of the majority or those in positions of authority.
